Grants Pass Machete-Wielding Man Arrested After Lady Friends Fail To Deliver His Drugs

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A low-level drug deal at Ogle Park on NW Washington Boulevard got the attention of Grants Pass Police Officers on Saturday at about 11:10 p.m. when 58-year-old Baron Messier chased down two females with a machete after they failed to return with drugs he had given them money to buy.

Grants Pass deputies responding to a disturbance at Ogle Park found an angry Messier.

He had given money to two females to purchase methamphetamine for him, but after neither the money nor the narcotics were delivered, Messier went to Ogle Park and demanded the return of the money.

Police disarmed Messier, but he punched one of the females in the eye and attempted to strike both females with a section of pipe.

He was arrested for Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, and Assault in the fourth degree and was lodged at the Josephine County Jail.
