Grants Pass Hosts Josephine County Fire Departments For Training Exercise: Street Closures

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Grants Pass Fire Department notified residents that D Street between 6th Street and 7th Street will be closed from 5 PM to 8 PM on December 16, 17, and 18 as Josephine County Fire Departments undertake drills at the River Valley Church.

A Community Notice indicates that Grants Pass Fire is conducting an upcoming large-scale training exercise to hone emergency response skills as the fire departments strive to ensure the community’s safety.

Residents are advised that they may see smoke coming from the building and surrounding area. Still, the fire department indicated they should not be alarmed as these drills occur over three days.

The fire department requested anyone driving in the area to plan ahead and drive carefully around the training zone.
