Explosive Device Detonated in Ashland Car, Suspect Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

ASHLAND, Ore. — The Ashland, Oregon, Police Department arrested 32-year-old Michael Scott Beugli, of Ashland, after an explosive device in a parked, unoccupied vehicle was detonated in the area of the 300 block of Morton yesterday.

Members of the Ashland Police Department, Ashland Fire & Rescue, and the Talent Police Department responded at 4:43 a.m. to investigate a loud explosion. Officers found that an explosive device had been detonated inside a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

They then spotted what they thought was a potential secondary explosive device in the vehicle.
