Diesel Prices Hit Records in Parts of Oregon as Oil Surges Above $100
Diesel prices are reaching record levels in parts of Oregon as fuel costs rise sharply across the country, with the state’s average now approaching its all-time high.
Oregon Diesel Prices Hit New Highs
According to AAA, Oregon’s average diesel price reached $6.352 per gallon Thursday, up from $6.062 a week ago and $5.495 a month ago. The statewide record remains $6.474, set in July 2022.

Several Oregon communities have already surpassed their previous records. Corvallis reached a record $6.277 on September 10, while Pendleton’s average hit a record $6.363 on September 9 before edging lower. Diesel was even more expensive in Medford-Ashland, at $6.522, and Grants Pass, at $6.517.
U.S. Diesel Average Tops $6
The increases come as the national diesel market reaches unprecedented levels. Reuters reported Thursday that the U.S. average diesel price surpassed $6 per gallon for the first time, according to GasBuddy.

Crude oil prices are adding to the pressure. Brent crude settled at $107.63 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate reached $102.48, as conflict involving the U.S. and Iran intensified.
U.S. diesel prices have risen nearly 60% since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in late February. Tight supplies are adding further pressure, with U.S. diesel inventories reportedly 13% below their five-year average.
