Body of 27-Year-Old Medford Man Recovered After Kayaking Accident on Agate Lake
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff Oregon (JCSO) confirmed that the body of the 27-year-old Medford man who drowned while kayaking in Agate Lake on Saturday has been found.
Responding to a 9-1-1- call at 7:48 PM Saturday reporting a missing kayaker who disappeared into Agate Lake outside Eagle Point, JCSO Marine deputies, Jackson County Fire District 3 and Fire District 4 searched the water until after 10 PM, but were unable to locate the 27-year-old Medford man who fell into the lake while kayaking without a life jacket.
The next morning, JCSO Marine units, accompanied by Search and Rescue (SAR) Dive Team members and the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, resumed the search. SAR divers found the body of the missing man in the lake at 7:34 AM Sunday.
Law enforcement is not releasing the man’s name out of respect for his family’s privacy in this difficult time.
