Body Found in the Forest Near Lowell Triggers Murder Arrest of Eugene Man
EUGENE, Ore. — A murder victim found in a forest 10 miles east of Lowell on Thursday has led to the arrest of a 53-year-old man from Eugene.
Deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office Aaron detained Douglas Omer, who was found in the area. He was then arrested and transferred to the Lane County Jail.
LCSO deputies and detectives responded to a report of a deceased body in the forest on July 31. They determined the cause of death as homicidal violence. No further details have been released, and the identity of the victim will only be disclosed once next-of-kin have been notified.
The LCSO was assisted by the Oregon State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, the FBI, and the Eugene Police Department.
