Ashland Residents Invited to Speak Up at Oregon AG’s Town Hall on Federal Overreach
ASHLAND, Ore. — Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield is hosting a public “Federal Oversight Town Hall” on Thursday, August 7th at 6 pm at Southern Oregon University (SOU) and wants to hear directly from Oregonians personally affected by federal actions.

Part of Rayfield’s statewide “Federal Oversight Town Hall” series, the Ashland town hall is the 6th in a series exploring the effects of federal actions on subjects such as healthcare, funding for research and grants, environmental protections, LGBTQ+ rights, and support for federal workers, veterans, schools, libraries, and more.
Southern Oregon has been on the front lines of some of the most significant ripple effects of federal decisions, and the communities have a unique perspective that needs to be part of the statewide strategy.
Oregon is currently engaged in 35 multi-state lawsuits against the federal government, many of which have yielded favorable rulings, safeguarding over $3.5 billion in state funding so far.
About the town hall, AG Rayfield said, “These conversations aren’t just about tracking policy—they’re about making sure our legal work reflects what’s happening here.”
