Ashland Police Increase Patrols, Towing Downtown Ahead of Tomorrow’s Children’s Halloween Parade
ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland police confirmed that the Children’s Halloween Parade on Friday will be closely monitored and that additional resources will be deployed to address incidents.
The Halloween parade starts at 3:45 PM in front of the Ashland Public Library, before moving west along East Main Street toward the Plaza. Due to safety concerns, all vehicles will be towed out of the downtown corridor starting at 2:00 PM, as was the case for previous parades.
Areas from which vehicles will be towed will be well-marked early in the day, and East Main Street between Gresham Street and Water Street will be closed from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Lithia Way will be set up for two-way traffic heading downtown.
As citizens from across the valley celebrate Halloween, swelling the number of nighttime visitors, the Ashland Police Department will be joined by officers from surrounding agencies to monitor all evening activities in the downtown area.
Ashland police remind the public that enforcement will be strictly administered when police see things like disorderly conduct, illegal drug use, curfew, public intoxication, public alcohol consumption, open containers of alcohol in public, or any other violations of state law and municipal code.
