Ashland Felon and California Trafficker Tied to Huge Medford Meth Seizure After MADGE Investigation
MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Police Department recently shared details of two big Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team (MADGE) drug busts, which contributed to the almost 40-pound haul of methamphetamines that the police have prevented from reaching the streets, as well as several firearms.
Funded by the Oregon-Idaho HIDTA program’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Madge is one of the drug enforcement initiatives that are part of the counterdrug grant program. Two recent MADGE cases made a significant contribution to the mounting removal of drugs from Medford streets.
Arrest Of Christopher Boyd Stevenson:
44-year-old Stevenson, a convicted felon, was arrested at his residence in the 400 block of B Street in Ashland following a lengthy investigation.
Officers serving the search warrant on Stevenson’s residence found over five pounds of Methamphetamine, which was seized along with five firearms and three ounces of Cocaine. Stevenson was jailed on drug possession and firearms-related charges.
Arrest Of Juan Flores-Gutierrez:
Following a multi-year investigation into drug trafficking to Medford being conducted by Flores-Gutierrez of Southern California, MADGE investigators conducting a traffic stop on August 12 stopped a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Flores-Gutierrez, resulting in the seizure of 2 pounds of Methamphetamine.
An additional 32 pounds of Methamphetamine was later found at Flores-Gutierrez’s residence in the 1200 block of West 8th Street in Medford.
