As Trump Targets DEI, Oregon State University Ends Social Justice Education Program

The decision by Oregon State University to end two programs coincides with similar decisions by colleges nationwide in response to the Trump administration’s threat of federal funding cuts to education institutions offering diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

However, OSU officials have not offered further insight on the subject, other than to point out that similar programs are available at the university.

It is also unclear if the decision to cut the programs will result in staff layoffs.

The Social Justice Education program started in 2016 in OSU’s Human Resources Department.
