Armed Man Shot by Police on Mallard Lane in Medford After Threatening Self-Harm

MEDFORD, Ore. — An officer-involved shooting took place yesterday morning on Mallard Lane, Medford, when police investigated a report of an armed individual who was threatening self-harm.

The incident, which involved shots being fired, occurred in the 3600 block of Mallard Lane. The individual was transported to the local hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.

No police were injured.

According to police protocol, the officer involved is on paid administrative leave, and an investigation is being independently conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
