Two fronts will bring impactful winter weather to the area through
Thursday morning. One early this morning, then, after a brief break,
another this afternoon into Thursday morning. Snow levels will fall
to 3000 to 3500 feet this morning, then drop to the higher passes
north of Grants Pass this afternoon to as low as 1400 feet this
evening into Thursday morning. This will bring significant snow to
the Cascades, northern Klamath County and some west side areas.
* WHAT...Snow expected above 1500 ft in Jackson County. Total snow
accumulations of a dusting to an inch down to 1500 feet, 2 to 4
inches down to 2000 feet and as much as 6 inches above 2500 feet.
Snow levels around 3000 feet fall to 2000 feet this evening, and
continue falling to around 1500 feet as snow tapers off on
Thursday morning. Snow will be heaviest this evening until around
2 AM PST Thursday, but snow showers could continue through the
morning.
* WHERE...Above 1500 ft in Jackson County including the locations
of...Ashland, East Medford, Butte Falls, Prospect, and portions of
highways 227 and 62. This also includes the following passes or
notable locations...Jacksonville Hill on State Highway 238 at 2150
ft.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 10 AM PST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel may be difficult and delays in your commute. The
hazardous conditions could impact the commutes this evening and
Thursday morning.
