Suspect on the Run After Fatal Shooting in Southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers responding to reports of a shooting near 142nd Ave and Division in Southeast Portland on Saturday, at 5:24 p.m., arrived to find an injured man, who later died.

When PPB East Precinct officers arrived, they applied trauma first aid and summoned paramedics. The injured man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where, despite lifesaving measures, he died.

Portland Police Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene, but the suspect or suspects had left before police arrived, and no immediate arrests were made.

Detectives closed westbound Southeast Division Street between Southeast 145th Avenue and Southeast 141st Avenue during the investigation.
