Salem Police Say Duo Threw Eggs at Homeless People for Three Nights Before Arrest
SALEM, Ore. — Two people were arrested by Salem Police on Friday following a three-night egg-throwing spree, hurling eggs at homeless people. About 225 eggs were recovered from their vehicle.
Responding to reports of people driving by and throwing eggs at homeless people, Salem Police officers obtained a good description of the suspect vehicle, which they found before arresting a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. The pair has not been identified.
Salem Police confirmed that it was the third reported egg incident in as many nights. With help from witnesses, police found broken eggs, discarded egg cartons, and bags of hard-boiled eggs in the area of Court Street, between Front and Liberty Streets Northeast.
The pair were arrested on a charge of intimidation with bias against a person’s housing status and disorderly conduct.
