Salem Man Shot in the Face During Domestic Violence Incident as Suspect Surrenders to Police

SALEM, Ore. — A man was shot in the face during a domestic violence incident in the 3300 block of Ferndell Street NE in Salem on Friday night.

With the assistance of a SWAT team, Salem Police Department officers surrounded the residence.

 

Suspect Surrendered to the Crisis Negotiations Team Without Incident

Sany Morales (43) surrendered to the Crisis Negotiations Team without incident. He is lodged at the Marion County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and the unlawful use of a weapon. Morales is also facing several unrelated warrants.

The 31-year-old gunshot victim was transported to the hospital, where he is recovering from his injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
