On arrival at the scene, PPB officers found an instrument case containing a loaded shotgun and firearm shells with President Donald Trump’s name on them.
An investigation led the police to an apartment in the 1600 block of Northwest 14th Avenue in the Pearl District Neighborhood.
When the suspect failed to emerge from the apartment, even though the police warned that force may be used against him, officers became concerned for the safety of residents and evacuated everyone living on the same floor.
About 35 minutes later, officers flushed the suspect out of the apartment by deploying irritant gas munitions. He was holding a handgun. Two PPB SERT officers opened fire, one reporting that the suspect had pointed a gun at him. The man was declared deceased by paramedics summoned to the scene.
