Portland Restaurant Worker Stabbed and Held at Knifepoint During Lloyd District Robbery, Police Say

PORTLAND, Ore. — A female employee at a Lloyd neighborhood restaurant was held at knife-point and stabbed during a robbery in Portland on Saturday.

Portland Police Bureau North Precinct officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 400 block of Northeast Hassalo Street at 12.27 p.m.

Upon their arrival, they encountered the suspect, Elias L. Lavelle (42), standing in the doorway of the restaurant. He was armed with a knife.

He obeyed their commands and was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center.

 

The Suspect Faces Several Charges Related to the Robbery

Lavelle has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and the unlawful use of a weapon.
