Portland Police Arrest 26 in Human Trafficking Sweep Targeting NE 82nd and Sandy Blvd
PORTLAND, Ore. — Twenty-six individuals have been arrested for commercial sexual solicitation or unlawful prostitution procurement by the Portland Police Bureau in a multi-agency collaborative initiative.
The operation was undertaken throughout September, when PPB responded to numerous and ongoing complaints about sex trafficking along Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
The PPB has released the names of the alleged offenders. There are 13 offenders from Portland, with the rest are residents of Vancouver, Beaverton, Wood Village, Sherwood, Newport, St Helens. Hillsboro, Canby, Clackamas, and Brightwood.
The Alleged Sex Offenders Range in Age From 16 to 57 Years
Richard Perez-Morales (29) was also charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, and Fernando Torres-Jimenez (24) was charged with firearm offences. The other alleged sex trafficking offenders, who range in age from 16 to 57 years, are Jacob Giles (23), Aleksandr Sarkisov (56), Lesther Valdez-Herrera (26), Erwin Zacarias-Prado (19), Alan Yanez-Peralta (25), David Gomez-Cruz (24), Ruvim Buntylo (16), David Paredes (27), Abraham Swaray (31), Nathaniel Austin (21), David Zagreychuk (20), Qiquan Sun (57), Keith Smith (40), Theo Henderson (35), Fredy Miguel-Cruz (29), Marcus Pina (28), Matthew Pina (39), Khalid Akid (38), Nasrat Akeed (22), Joel Hunt (34), Gregory Roseboro (46), Jusef Beganovic (31), Carlos Garcia-Garcia (19), and Deverton Cochrane (42).
Apart from the arrests, the operation also resulted in eight vehicles being towed, the recovery of one firearm, and additional information gathered about suspected buyers and traffickers. Eighteen individuals were also offered assistance from the Human Trafficking Unit.
Also involved in the operation was Safety Compass, a street-level, nonprofit, outreach organization that offers advocacy services to individuals under the age of 25 who identify as survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
