Police Chase From Gresham to Portland Ends With Arrest of 13-Year-Old Who Claimed She Was Kidnapped

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — Multiple law enforcement units, including air support, were involved in the recovery of a vehicle owned by relatives of a 13-year-old girl who thought she had been kidnapped when she was inside their car when it was stolen from a Gresham trampoline park.

However, according to the Gresham Police Department, the girl was involved in the plan to steal the vehicle.

A Multi-Task Force, Including Air Support, Was Involved in the Recovery of the Stolen Vehicle

The drama unfolded on Sunday when the multi-task force was led on a chase from Gresham to Portland.

Officers from the Gresham and Portland police departments, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, aided by air support, finally stopped the vehicle on Interstate 84 after using spike strips. Officers then boxed in the car with police vehicles.

An adult male, two juvenile males, and the 13-year-old girl were arrested. It is not known if they have been charged.
