Oregon Ranks Among States Using the Least Ozempic and Wegovy for Weight Loss

In a recent study of prescriptions for the weight loss injection GLP-1 in each US state, Oregon ranked as the state with the 5th lowest prescriptions written.

A recent study by GLP-1 provider Nutrition NC revealed the states with the highest number of GLP-1 users. GLP-1 drugs include Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, and are used by many for weight loss.

The research revealed that GLP-1 injections are the least popular in Hawaii where 5,050.46 of every 100,000 residents were given prescriptions in 2024, but this is a 21.00% increase from 2023.

West Virginians got the most GLP-1 users, with 428,367, representing 24,217.07 GLP-1 prescriptions per 100,000 residents, but this marked a 3.2% decrease from the previous year, suggesting that the trends across the states are changing.

Unlike the rural states, in Oregon, 7,920.36 per 100,000 residents were prescribed GLP-1, representing an increase of 12.60% between 2023 and 2024.
