Oregon Man Sentenced to Six Years in Federal Prison After Cocaine Trafficking and Money Laundering Scheme Unravels
CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A resident of the affluent Lake Oswego suburb has been sentenced to six years in a federal prison for trafficking cocaine and money laundering.
He Must Also Forfeit Assets Worth Over $500,000
Forty-seven-year-old Michael Wayne Frost must also forfeit assets worth more than half a million dollars that he deposited into a business bank account to buy cryptocurrency.
According to court documents, law enforcement officers bought cocaine from Frost on several occasions before serving a federal search warrant on his Lake Oswego residence on July 2, 2024.

Search Warrants Uncovered 1kg of Cocaine and Large Sums of Cash
During the search, agents seized a kilogram of cocaine and about $20,000 in cash. Additional warrants uncovered more than $509,000 in cash and cryptocurrency connected to the sale of cocaine.
Court documents reveal that Frost transferred money from his bank account to Robinhood, a cryptocurrency platform he used to launder the proceeds of his drug sales.
A federal grand jury in Portland returned a seven-count indictment on August 21, 2024. charging Frost with cocaine distribution and money laundering. On September 24, 2025, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and two counts of money laundering.
Frost will serve 72 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
