Oregon Humane Society Makes a Holiday Plea to Find Homes for 23 Rescued Pyrenees Dogs
Twenty-three Pyrenees dogs are in need of a Christmas present – a new and loving home where they will be well cared for.
They are Among 62 Dogs and Puppies Rescued From a Property Where They Were Badly Neglected
The animals were among 62 dogs and puppies rescued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in late September, from a property where they were badly neglected.
OHS Director of Adoptions, Eleena Fikham, says loving homes will be life-changing for these 23 special dogs. She is appealing to the community to display compassion and give the animals a chance to thrive.
She says the Pyrenees dogs have made good progress, and while some remain timid, they have blossomed from frightened and withdrawn to loving and playful.
Prospective owners can choose which adoption process they prefer. These include foster-to-adopt or in-shelter visits. The OHS is also offering additional behavior guidance.
All the animals have up-to-date vaccinations, and the adoption process includes spay-neuter services, a microchip, and a free veterinary examination.
All 23 are housed at the OHS’s Portland campus, and their profiles can be viewed online. Prospective owners will work with adoption specialists to match homes for each animal’s specific needs.
