Oregon Drug Dealer Calls Police With Information That Leads to His Own Arrest
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested 47-year-old Clinton Reed of Roseburg yesterday on drug charges after finding evidence that he was a dealer, yet had called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) officers in late September with information on drug deals. The information he gave implicated himself in the illegal activity.
Roseburg Drug Dealer Gave Information To Police That Led To His Own Arrest
DINT, which includes members from the DCSO, Roseburg Police Department, Oregon State Police, Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, and the Bureau of Land Management, investigated information provided by Reed on specific individuals involved in the sale and purchase of fentanyl and methamphetamine throughout Douglas County.
Reed was contacted by DINT detectives in the 1400 block of Vine Street in Roseburg on the afternoon of October 7 and admitted to sending the information to the DCSO. He told detectives that he was on his way to sell fentanyl at that time.
During a search, a total of 48.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and baggies consistent with presumed delivery of controlled substances were found in Reed’s backpack and home.
Reed was arrested and has been lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of:
- Unlawful delivery of methamphetamine,
- Unlawful possession of a schedule II-controlled substance,
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine,
- Unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacturing,
- Unlawful delivery of a Schedule II-controlled substance.
