The study, by the leading source of vehicle performance data, 0-60 Specs, uncovered which U.S. states are most likely to modify their cars- based on Google searches and consumer spending patterns.

The analysis combined Google search data for car modification terms with Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) figures on sports and recreational vehicles, giving each state a score out of 100.

The top position went to Florida, with almost 528 Google searches per 100,000 residents for car modifications and a $556.36 per capita spend on recreational vehicles.

New York came in last with just 275 Google searches per 100,000 residents and a spend of $112.20 per capita on vehicle modifications.

Window tinting emerged as the most popular car modification across all states, followed by car wraps and cold air intakes. Ranking third, Oregon scored 74.99, despite having fewer searches per capita (396.03) than some higher-ranked states, mainly due to its $520.41 per capita spending on sports and recreational vehicles.
