Medford Police Arrest Domestic Violence Suspect After High-Speed Chase Ends in a Stolen Car Crash
MEDFORD, Ore. — After Medford Police Department (MPD) officers responded to reports that 47-year-old Alfred W. Mabrier had caused multiple hit-and-run accidents in a black Honda Civic stolen from a female acquaintance after a domestic disturbance at Jackson County Community Justice on W. Main St on Monday, a Jackson County Sheriff Office (JCSO) deputy spotted the car on S. Pacific Highway.
Police caught up with Mabrier when he crashed and arrested him.
𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁:
On Monday at about 3:50 p.m., Mabrier fled the scene of a domestic argument in the stolen Honda.
The JCSO, who saw the car traveling south on S. Pacific Highway in South Medford, attempted a traffic stop, but Mabrier sped off, driving dangerously through South Medford, Phoenix, Talent, and Ashland, where he rear-ended another vehicle.
Mabrier continued to flee, and JCSO deputies stopped their pursuit as the vehicle entered Ashland, but the elude attempt ended in a crash at the intersection of Main and Maple Streets in Ashland.
JCSO deputies and Ashland Oregon Police Department officers apprehended Mabrier as he fled on foot.
Mabrier was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. After being medically cleared, he was charged by both police departments as follows:
