Medford Park Shooting Leaves Suspect Hospitalized as Sheriff’s Office Takes Over Case

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation of an officer-involved shooting at Hawthorne Park in Medford on Friday.

The officers involved in the incident were not injured. However, a suspect was taken to a hospital in Medford for treatment. The suspect’s condition was not known.

According to the Medford Police Department, a large law enforcement presence was at Hawthorne Park, where investigations continued. The public is asked to stay away from the area of the shooting until further notice.

Medford Police Department handed over the case for a full investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. No further details are available at this time.
