Medford Celebrates the Longest Day of the Year With a Sunset 5K and 10K Run

MEDFORD, Ore. — Shortish and long runs on the longest day of the year are happening in Medford today as runners line up to participate in the 2025 Summer Solstice Run.

Medford Parks, Recreation, and Facilities, in partnership with Southern Oregon Runners, is hosting a family-friendly event featuring 5K and 10K events. After the race, runners can celebrate or take a break in the park, where activities are available for the whole family.

 

Details of Medford’s Summer Solstice run are:

  • Runners of all levels are welcome.
  • Participants must be at least 5 years old.
  • Venue: Hawthorne Park
  • Date: Saturday, June 21
  • Times: 6:30-9:00 p.m.
  • Start Times:
    • 10k at 6:30 pm
    • 5K at 6:45 pm
  • The event starts at Hawthorne Park, where runners run along the greenway to Lithia and Driveway fields before heading back to Hawthorne.
  • Registration fee: $26 and kids under 12 are free.
