Man Found Dead at Medford Elementary School Sparks Active Homicide Investigation

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Police Department (MPD) launched a homicide investigation after a deceased male was found in the Wilson Elementary School parking lot early Sunday morning.

Responding to reports at about 6:30 a.m., MPD officers discovered a dead body, but surveillance footage obtained shows the incident occurred several hours earlier.

Detectives confirmed this is a homicide investigation, and investigators are working to collect additional surveillance footage to identify the suspect(s) and any associated vehicle.

MPD indicated that there is no known threat to the public or school community at this time, but the police investigation remains active and ongoing.
