Man Dies of Gunshot Wounds Despite Efforts by a Portland Policeman to Resuscitate Him

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has died of gunshot wounds despite attempts by a Portland North Precinct police sergeant to resuscitate him on the scene in the 9300 block of North Newman Avenue.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at 11.04 a.m. yesterday (Sunday) and on their arrival found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.

The identity of the victim will be released after family members have been notified and the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death.
