Portland Labor Day Marches Call For Change
Organized by the group 50501 Portland, part of a broader initiative by the No Kings Collective —a coalition focused on channeling protest energy into political action —a protest took place on Monday afternoon aimed at rallying the community against what organizers called the systematic dismantling of democracy under the Trump administration.
Participants gathered at the Battleship Oregon Memorial in Tom McCall Waterfront Park at noon as organizers cited threats to women’s rights, immigrant rights, and the targeting of transgender communities, and other issues, calling for the removal of the current administration.
The march followed a two-mile loop through downtown Portland and over the Burnside and Morrison bridges, concluding at Waterfront Park at approximately 2:45 p.m., when the crowd dispersed from the area.
Portland police officers communicated with organizers and assisted them with traffic control at several intersections during the march. No incidents were reported during the non-violent protest.

Participants provided several reasons for their involvement, highlighting their dissatisfaction with the Trump administration on issues such as labor laws and regulations.
Eugene Labor Day Protests Against Trump Policies
Over 1,000 protests took place nationwide. On Sunday, over a hundred Eugene residents went downtown to protest the Trump administration.
Protesters held up signs criticizing many of President Trump’s policies and actions launched in his second term, including his crackdown on immigrants, deployment of armed National Guard troops into Democratic cities, and global tariffs.
Union activists who attended the march said Trump’s policies are harmful to working-class Americans.
