Investigation Finds Reckless Driving to Blame for Serious Medford Tree Crash Not Alleged Road Rage

MEDFORD, Ore. — Two people were seriously injured when their car crashed into a tree on Friday night. They claimed that they had been fleeing another vehicle after being menaced with a firearm, but Medford Police determined that this claim was unfounded.

Police indicated that reckless driving was the cause of the accident.

Two of the occupants were taken to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, where one remains in critical care, and the other will need plastic surgery for significant facial injuries.

A third person who had been in the vehicle but fled before officers arrived was contacted later and confirmed that the crash resulted from reckless driving.
