ICE Agents Arrest Two Suspects in Eugene Burglary Ring as They’re Leaving The Lane County Jail
EUGENE, Ore. — Two plain-clothes ICE agents detained two suspects as they were released from the Lane County Jail last week.
The incident, involving two men suspected of involvement in a burglary ring targeting Asian-American families in Eugene, has been confirmed by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident, on October 15, was filmed by at least one known witness, and the information was revealed in an internal memo released by Sgt. Tim Wallace.
The memo reveals that two Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entered the jail lobby as an attorney opened the door.
One of the ICE Agents was Wearing a Ballistic Vest
The ICE agents, one of whom was wearing a ballistic vest, handcuffed one of the suspects after tackling and restraining him when he tried to flee.
The other suspect was detained earlier in the jail courtyard by the same two ICE agents, states the memo.
The two suspects have been identified as Robinson Camacho Rodriguez (31) and William Steven Rodriguez (26).
They are two of seven men arrested at a holiday home in Welches on suspicion of burglarizing Asian-American households and stealing goods valued in excess of $200,000.
