Hunter’s Discovery of Dead Body Sparks Klamath County Homicide Arrests
KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — The Oregon State Police (OSP) SWAT team arrested two Sprague River men, 38-year-old Russell Dwayne Carroway and 31-year-old Devin Tyler Pellerin, on Thursday in connection with the dead body, since identified as Robert T. Hein, found by a hunter near Sprague River on Tuesday.
2 Arrests In Connection With Sprague River Homicide
Responding to a 911 call from a hunter indicating he had found a dead body near Sprague River in Klamath County on Tuesday, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined the victim had died as a result of homicide.
The Klamath County Major Crime Team, which includes representatives from the Oregon State Police, Klamath Falls Police Department, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, Klamath County Community Corrections, and the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office, was activated, with OSP designated as the lead agency.
While serving a search warrant at a rural property in Sprague River during the early morning hours of Thursday, two suspects in Hein’s death, Carroway and Pellerin, both of Sprague River, were taken into custody in connection with the death.
Carroway and Pellerin were charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Both were taken to the Klamath County Jail, where they were lodged. The investigation is still ongoing.
