Hillsboro Officer Crawls Through Wrecked Car Trunk to Rescue Trapped Dog After Crash
HILLSBORO, Ore. — A heartwarming story has surfaced from the Hillsboro Police Department, highlighting two acts of kindness by an unnamed officer who demonstrated genuine care for his community and its four-legged companions.
Responding to a traffic accident near W Baseline Road and SW Dennis Avenue earlier this week, officers found a dog trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the officer crawled into the vehicle, through the trunk, to safely retrieve the pup, who was unharmed and joyfully reunited with his owner.
Shortly after this act of kindness, the same officer again showed his commitment to serving the community when helping a motorist repair a puncture. The motorist had arrived on the scene to collect one of the people involved in the accident.
On the HPD Facebook platform, a statement reads: ‘Small mments like these don’t always make the news, but they reflect what service looks like in real time – showing up, helping where you can, and taking care of people and pets in our community.’
Well done, HPD, and a high-five to the unnamed officer.
