Grants Pass Woman Dies After Driving Wrong Way on I-5 and Hitting Semi Truck Head-On

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — After a tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5, near milepost 62, in Josephine County,  on Saturday, at 2:04 a.m., 34-year-old Annette Dea Dimmick of Grants Pass was declared dead at the scene.

Oregon State Police (OSP), the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Fire, and ODOT responded to the crash scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet S10, driven by Dimmick, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes for unknown reasons.

Dimmich crashed into a northbound Volvo commercial motor vehicle and trailer, driven by 68-year-old David Michael Jellison of Alliance (OH), head-on. Jellison and his passenger, 29-year-old Ceejay Clay of Warren (OH), reported minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital, but Dimmick was declared deceased at the scene.
