Grants Pass Approves Funding for Proposed 160-Bed Managed Homeless Camp

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The City Council of Grants Pass took another step toward a managed homeless camp plan after voting to award a homelessness grant to Pathways to Stability.

Grant Pass Homeless Camp Plan

The proposed site for the Grants Pass Homeless Camp is at 1798 Southeast N St., approximately half a mile from Riverside Elementary School and across the street from a neighborhood. It is expected to hold up to 160 people. Officials confirmed that the property already meets essential requirements.

Pathways to Stability’s program promises a 24/7 managed operation to provide housing, recovery support, and faith-based mentorship with low barriers to entry. It is planned to include neighborhood security and a dedicated hotline for local residents.

The program will also have curfews, ID badges for late-night check-ins, and a structured path to recovery and self-sufficiency.

Pathways has coordinated efforts with partners over the past eight months and anticipates county approval for the location.

City officials want input from the community before approving the site, and an open town hall meeting will be held within the next two weeks for residents to ask any questions they may have and voice their concerns.
