Glendale Pedestrian Killed on Highway 140 in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — A 39-year-old pedestrian from Glendale, Naomi Hope Gomez, was struck and killed on Highway 140 near Blackwell Road in Jackson County early last Friday morning.

The accident scene was attended by the Oregon State Police. The OSP confirmed that the driver of the single-vehicle accident was Jerid William Gunter (47) of Medford. Gunter was traveling eastbound in his truck on Highway 140 when it struck a pedestrian in a dimly lit area of the road.

Gomez died of her injuries on the scene.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted the OSP, and an ensuing investigation of the accident scene impacted for about two hours.
