Former Medford Business Leader Indicted Over Alleged 100,000 Dollar Theft From Southern Oregon Builders Group

MEDFORD, Ore. — The former CEO of the Builders’ Association of Southern Oregon (BASO), Bradley Bennington, has been indicted on charges of aggravated theft and identity theft.

The indictment follows his arrest last month after a lengthy investigation into the theft involving $100,000.

Tidings Timeline
  • October 2025 : BASO reports suspected theft to Medford Police
  • February 26, 2026 : Detectives arrest Bennington after audit review
  • March 16, 2026 : Jackson County DA announces the indictment

After reporting the theft, BASO provided detectives with a financial forensic audit, and Bennington now faces multiple charges, including five counts of aggravated theft, two counts of theft, three felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, and four associated misdemeanor counts.

Tidings Insight
Oregon’s first degree aggravated theft law applies when alleged stolen property totals $10,000 or more, which is why a six figure embezzlement case can bring a more serious felony charge.
