Feds Give 14-Year Sentence to California Man Who Delivered Meth to Oregon Customers
A 34-year-old Californian has been sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment for trafficking 11 pounds of methamphetamine in Oregon.
Banuelos was the target of a drug trafficking investigation by the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team. He was arrested on February 28, 2021, while en-route from California to deliver the methamphetamine to an Oregon customer in Prineville.
Trafficker Admitted Transporting Drugs for Distribution in Oregon on Seven Occasions
Officers seized two boxes with more than 11 pounds of methamphetamine during a search of Banuelos’ vehicle. During questioning by investigators, Banuelos admitted transporting drugs for distribution in Oregon on about seven occasions.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on August 4, 2022, and Banuelos pleaded guilty to the charge on October 31, 2022. When he appeared in court on Monday, Banuelos was sentenced to 168 months in a federal prison and five years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the CODE team and the Drug Enforcement Agency, and was prosecuted by Adam Delph, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon.
