Federal Agents Seize Cocaine, Explosive Devices and Dozens of Firearms From Portland Residence

PORTLAND Ore. — A 50-year-old Portland man, Aaron Nathaniel Gabbert, appeared before a U.S. magistrate judge last Friday on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm to further a drug trafficking crime.

Tidings Insight
This gun count is separate from the cocaine count. Federal law says it applies when prosecutors allege a firearm helped advance drug trafficking, and it adds prison time on top of the drug case.

Court documents reveal that on March 25, 2026, the FBI and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office searched Gabbert’s residence, where they seized one pound of cocaine, 34 firearms, a silencer, over $11,000 in cash, and a bulletproof vest and helmet.

Investigators also located what appeared to be two destructive devices.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Oregon, many of the firearms seized during the operation were loaded and included rifles, handguns, and a shotgun.

The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the FBI and the MCSO Dangerous Drugs Team Special Investigation Unit.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kemp Strickland and Scott M. Kerin are prosecuting the case.

Tidings Insight
A criminal complaint starts the federal case, but it is not a conviction. The U.S. Attorney says a complaint is only an accusation, and defendants remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
