Evacuation Orders Expand Across Oregon as Rising Rivers and Landslides Trigger New Flood Warnings
Flood alerts across Oregon are at various levels today as the state prepares for more rain and flooding during the festive season.
Evacuation Levels Near Salem
Salem’s Emergency Management Department issued a new Level 1 “BE READY” flood alert warning yesterday. The alert includes Salem Hospital and is effective along Salem Mill Creek, Shelton Ditch, and Lower Pringle Creek, North of Mission Street.

Clackamas County Issues Level 1 “Be Ready” Evacuation Notices
Clackamas County issued a level 1 alert for low-lying areas along the Molalla River, Pudding River, and Butte Creek, as well as part of Oregon City near the Clackamas River, as residents face evacuation as major flooding threatens multiple areas
The Clackamas River has reached major flood stage near Estacada and is becoming a major flood stage at Oregon City. Flooding has left thousands of people in Clackamas County under evacuation orders. The current Clackamas County Evacuation Alerts are:
- Paradise Point, South Pioneer Crossing, Tranquility Lane, Creekside Lane, Shady Dell Road, Fawn Lane, Dickie Prairie Road, and the Carver Mobile Home Ranch: Level 3 “Go Now”- Leave immediately.
- Low-lying areas along east Sand River Lane, Southeast Paradise Road, Southeast Woods Road, and parts of the Clackamas River corridor: Level 2 -“Be Set.”
- Areas along Johnson Creek, the Molalla River, Pudding River, and Butte Creek: Level 1- “Be Ready”
Lincoln County: Siletz Area Highway 229 At Level 3 “Go Now” Evacuation Order
The Level 3 “Go Now” alert remains in place as the landslide on Highway 229 settles. The landslide destabilized the terrain in the affected area, creating a dangerous situation with unstable ground. Heavy rains are expected to worsen conditions and carry additional risk.
