Dozens of Firefighters Respond After Smoke Pours From Roseburg Storage Unit on Diamond Lake Boulevard

ROSEBURG, Ore. — A fire in a commercial structure at 2405 NE Diamond Lake Boulevard, Suite L, on  Wednesday, November 26, at 7:14 p.m. was extinguished by Roseburg Fire Department firefighters, and the cause is now under investigation.

Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to reports of smoke in the vicinity of NE Diamond Lake Boulevard and Ivan Street and found a commercial structure fire with smoke billowing from the garage door and the eaves of Suite L.

 
The building was being used for storage and did not house a commercial business.

Twenty-four firefighters assisted with firefighting operations, including personnel from Roseburg Fire Department, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Avista Utilities, Pacific Power, and the Roseburg Police Department.

After firefighters extinguished the fire, ventilated the structure, and stopped its forward spread to the remaining portions of the building, they searched the structure.

They determined that no occupants were inside at the time of the fire. The building sustained structural, smoke, and water damage.

Firefighters remained on scene to complete the overhaul, and two fire investigators arrived. The fire department confirmed that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
