Deschutes County SWAT Arrests Suspect Wanted Nationwide After Fleeing Crash That Left Woman Trapped
DESCHUTES COUNTY, Ore. — Twenty-nine-year-old Trent Michael Conley, who fled the scene of a single-vehicle accident in which a female was trapped, has been arrested by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s SWAT team.
Conley, who is wanted on a nationwide felony assault charge and who is now facing a string of additional charges, was taken into custody at 7.50 a.m. yesterday by the SWAT team, assisted by Oregon State Police and several other law enforcement agencies.
Conley allegedly fled from he accident at 1 a.m., leaving an injured woman trapped inside the vehicle. The accident took place in the vicinity of Odem Avenue, south of Terrebonne, and adjacent to the Alpaca Ranch.
The Suspect Was Armed and Dangerous
A large law enforcement presence descended on the area, east of Highway 97, near NW Galloway Avenue, to investigate the incident. They soon identified Conley, of Washington State, as the suspect and arrested him several hours later.
Law enforcement warned residents in the area to remain alert and not to approach Conley, who was regarded as armed and dangerous.
Apart from the nationwide felony assault warrant, Conley is also facing charges of kidnapping, rape, strangulation, assault, felony hit and run, misdemeanor hit and run, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
