Tow chain ATM thefts usually use stolen pickup trucks to yank the safe door open fast, which is why investigators focus on vehicle theft reports, cameras, and repeated hits across state lines.

Quinnaland Jerome Rhodes (39) of Florida, and Texans Imuel Wade Thompkins (31) and Derron Skinner (34), were sentenced to prison for conspiracy to rob banks, bank robberies, and bank theft.

According to a press release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida, Thompkins was sentenced to four years, Skinner to three years, and Rhodes to two years. All three will be on supervised release for three years following their release from prison, and were ordered to pay $351,284 in restitution.

Supervised release is federal court monitoring after prison; conditions can include reporting, travel limits, and treatment, and violations can lead to new court action and additional custody.
Tidings Context
Restitution is a court order to repay victims for documented losses; it is separate from fines, and unpaid balances can be collected during supervised release and after supervision ends.

The string of robberies occurred on December 10 and 23 in 2023 at banks in Port St. Joe and Callaway, Florida.

After their arrest, FBI agents discovered that Skinner and Thompkins also robbed ATMs, using stolen trucks, in Oregon and Missouri.

The case involved a joint investigation of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Port St. Joe Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
