Ashland’s Annual Monster Dash Returns Tomorrow With Costumes, Cash Prizes, and a Cause

ASHLAND, Ore. — Signing up early for Ashland’s 17th annual Monster Dash, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Lithia Park, offers lower registration fees for a healthy, fun outing.

The Ashland Schools Foundation invites the community to this year’s Monster Dash, which raises funds toward classroom grants for Ashland Public Schools. Setting a new record, about 1,300 people participated last year, and this year the organizers hope to break it.

The Ashland Monster Dash includes a 1-mile fun run/walk, a 5K, and a 10K, with cash prizes going to the top male, female, and non-binary finishers.

There’s also a costume contest, free for anyone to enter, and a variety of family-friendly activities near the start and finish lines, including obstacle courses, a pirate ship bounce house, and games hosted by local vendors.

Monster Dash registration prices increased on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and will increase again just before the event. Prices started at:

  • $10 for youth
  • $18 for the 1-mile
  • $25 for the 5K and 10K

Teachers can apply for grants funded by registration fees, sponsorships, and T-shirt sales to support items such as supplies, books, materials, or guest speakers.

To register or for more information, go to the Monster Dash website.
