Kaleb Kantola scored 10 of his 11 points in the first half to help Central jump out to a 29-13 halftime lead and the Panthers held on for a 50-42 win in the first round of the Crescent Valley Invitational, Friday at Corvallis.

Adam Jones led Ashland with 17 points, including 11 in the fourth, and Anthony Swanson added 11.

CRESCENT VALLEY 62, ASHLAND 30: At Corvallis, Ashland kept pace with tournament host Crescent Valley until the third quarter where the Grizzlies were outscored 27-4 in the first of the two-day event.

The Grizzlies (2-5), who conclude against The Dalles at 11 a.m., were led by Malia Rodriguez with seven points and six rebounds, and Mya Elder-Hammond collected five points and 10 rebounds.

Cali McClave led the Raiders with 26 points and Gwen Gray added 22.
