Top-seeded Hood River beat fifth-seeded Ashland 16-3 in the Class 5A/4A girls water polo state semifinals Friday at the Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis.

The win advanced the defending state champion Eagles to the final, where they will face Sandy.

Ashland will take on Summit at 11:15 a.m. today in the third-place game. The Grizzlies will be seeking their third third-place trophy in the last five years.

Emma Kahn scored two goals and Sierra Pokrob one to lead the Grizzlies against Hood River. Isabelle Nicolier added eight blocks for the Grizzlies, who trounced Bend 11-8 in a state playoff match last week.
