Ean Lawrence hit two home runs, and Jackson Kemper, Toby Barnes and Jude Reynolds had three hits apiece as Ashland beat Hermiston 17-7 to advance to the championship round of the Little League Baseball 13U Oregon State Tournament, Monday in Grants Pass.

Ashland will face an opponent to be determined at 6 p.m. today for a spot in the 13U regional tournament.

Ashland scored three or more runs in each of the first four innings to seize a 13-6 lead before finishing the game early by the 10-run mercy rule.

Lawrence and Reynolds drove in three runs apiece, and pitcher Ian McKenna-Woods struck out six in 4 1/3 innings.

Overall, Ashland was 17-for-32 at the plate against Hermiston and 31-for-60 through two tournament games.

Ashland is managed by Mike Franko and coached by Karl Kemper and Josh Barnes.
