Ashland's USA Softball 12U team dropped two of three games Saturday and was eliminated from the 12-B Oregon state tournament in Beaverton.

The Rumble lost to the Salem Aftershock, 13-0, beat Bat Company, 15-7, then fell to Blaze Rebelles, 8-0.

Against Bat Company, Ashland scored four runs in the top of the first inning on a double by Rae Goff, consecutive singles by Glory Pistole, Gabby Heiken, Jessica Traynor and a two-run single by Shelby Brown.

Goff and Heiken had three hits apiece in the game, while Traynor, Mary Montgomery and MeKenna Wheeler had two hits each.

Against the Blaze Rebelles, Heiken surrendered only four hits in four innings, and Kirsten Morgan and Brown both had singles.

Goff and Heiken finished the tournament with five hits apiece.

Little League Baseball

At Grants Pass, Ean Lawrence went 3-for-4 with a home run and combined with Toby Barnes to pitch a no-hitter as Ashland beat Corvallis 14-0 in the first round of the 13-year-old Oregon state tournament Saturday.

Trip Repp, Ian McKenna-Wood and Eyera Nogues had two hits apiece for Ashland, which will play a second-round game today at 3 p.m.
