The South Medford Colts swept the Ashland Pilots in an Area 4 South doubleheader Wednesday, taking the opener 10-0 and the second game 16-6 in Medford. Both games were cut short after six innings via the 10-run mercy rule.

In the opener, the Colts scored three runs in the third and three in the fourth to break the game open. Chad Adams and Shea Scott had two hits apiece to lead the Pilots.

In the second game, Ashland scored three runs in the second inning to cut a 6-0 lead in half, but South Medford tacked on five more in the bottom half of the frame and pulled away from there.

For the Pilots in Game 2, Evan McLennan went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Eli Westrick was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Ashland hosts North Medford on Saturday.
